Most patients describe the brief 20-minute procedure itself as a sensation of mild pressure or pulling, rather than pain. Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) is also available at our clinics to keep you exceptionally relaxed.
How long is recovery?
Most patients return to sedentary work within 24–48 hours. Physical activity and exercise are typically resumed after 5–7 days. Dr. Benderev will give you personalized recovery guidelines at your consultation.
Can I drive home?
We recommend having someone drive you home after the procedure. If Nitrous Oxide is used, you must have a driver. If local anesthesia only was used, most patients feel comfortable driving short distances, but we encourage having a companion for peace of mind.

Yes. A semen analysis is required approximately 8–12 weeks after the procedure to confirm success. This can often be done at a local lab near your home. Dr. Benderev’s team will provide clear instructions after your procedure.
